SPT-discovered Galaxy Cluster Creating Stars at a Record Rate
The SPT team has discovered an extraordinary galaxy cluster. This massive system, known as the Phoenix Cluster, is forming stars at a spectacularly high rate -- more than 700 stars per year --- and its existence may force astronomers to rethink how galaxy clusters and the galaxies that inhabit them, evolve.
