SPT First Data Release: Overview

This page provides data products from the first SPT data release, described in detail in Schaffer et al. 2011, ApJ, 743, 90. This data release provides maps and auxiliary files for observations of the approximately 95 square degree ra5h30dec-55 field observed by SPT in the 2008 season with the 150 GHz and 220 GHz observing bands. The data release includes maps in both bands, prepared with two variations of filtering and projection. Map pixel weights, noise PSDs, and filter transfer functions are provided for each map. Beam functions and spectral bandpass functions for the 2008 SPT instrument are also provided.

If you have any questions regarding this data set or its use, please contact Kathryn Schaffer (kschaf2_at_saic_edu) or Tom Crawford (tcrawfor_at_kicp_uchicago_edu).

Maps of the ra5h30dec-55 Field from the 2008 Observing Season

Below are links to FITS files containing SPT maps of the ra5h30dec-55 field observed in the 2008 season. These maps are described in detail in Schaffer et al. 2011, ApJ, 743, 90. Auxiliary files, instrument beams, and spectral bandpass functions are necessary for interpreting the maps. These files are included further below.

Maps:
Maps of the ra5h30dec-55 field in the 150 GHz and 220 GHz bands, presented in the Sanson-Flamsteed projection with bright point sources masked during data filtering.

Maps of the ra5h30dec-55 field in the 150 GHz and 220 GHz bands, presented in the oblique Lambert equal-area azimuthal projection with bright point sources not masked during data filtering.

Auxiliary Data Products

Below are links to FITS files containing auxiliary information needed to interpret the SPT maps of the ra5h30dec-55 field observed in the 2008 season. These data products are described in detail in Schaffer et al. 2011, ApJ, 743, 90. Included below are pixel weight functions, noise PSD functions, and filter transfer functions for the two sets of maps provided in this release.

Weights:
Pixel weight functions for the maps of the ra5h30dec-55 field in the 150 GHz and 220 GHz bands presented in the Sanson-Flamsteed projection with bright point sources masked during data filtering.

Pixel weight functions for the maps of the ra5h30dec-55 field in the 150 GHz and 220 GHz bands presented in the oblique Lambert equal-area azimuthal projection with bright point sources not masked during data filtering.

Noise Power Spectral Density (PSD) functions:
Noise PSD functions for the maps of the ra5h30dec-55 field in the 150 GHz and 220 GHz bands presented in the Sanson-Flamsteed projection with bright point sources masked during data filtering.

Noise PSD functions for the maps of the ra5h30dec-55 field in the 150 GHz and 220 GHz bands presented in the oblique Lambert equal-area azimuthal projection with bright point sources not masked during data filtering.

Filter Transfer Functions:
Filter transfer functions for the maps of the ra5h30dec-55 field in the 150 GHz and 220 GHz bands presented in the Sanson-Flamsteed projection with bright point sources masked during data filtering.

Filter transfer functions for the maps of the ra5h30dec-55 field in the 150 GHz and 220 GHz bands presented in the oblique Lambert equal-area azimuthal projection with bright point sources not masked during data filtering.

Beams and Bandpasses for the 2008 Season

Below are SPT beam and spectral bandpass functions for the 2008 season, described in detail in Schaffer et al. 2011, ApJ, 743, 90. This data release provides FITS files containing two-dimensional SPT beam functions for the 150 GHz and 220 GHz observing bands for the 2008 season, as well as text files containing azimuthally-averaged Fourier-domain beam functions with uncertainties. Text files containing average spectral bandpass functions for each band for the 2008 season are also provided.

Two-dimensional Beams:
Two-dimensional SPT beam functions for the 150 GHz and 220 GHz observing bands for the 2008 season.

Fourier-Space Beam Functions:
Azimuthally averaged Fourier-domain SPT beam functions for the 150 GHz and 220 GHz observing bands for the 2008 season.

Bandpass Functions:
Average SPT spectral bandpass functions for the 150 GHz and 220 GHz observing bands for the 2008 season.
